Effective Gas Saving Tips

• Planning ahead- If alternative transportation isn’t an option, you can use these tips to save money while driving your own car.  The main way to save gas is to be efficient and plan ahead.  If you need to take care of several errands, you might try doing them all at once instead of doing one every day, especially if the locations are close together.  You can also plan the route you want to take ahead of time as well.  This way you can avoid unnecessary driving time in between locations. 

• Being smart about fill ups- The next time you need to put gas in your car, keep these tips in mind.  If you can, fill your car completely up.  This will keep you from driving back and forth from the gas station.  You should also try to compare prices at different gas stations.  Many of them can vary by 10 cents.  While it won’t do you any good to get the cheapest gas if you have to drive several miles out of your way, you should look at prices from several stations in your area.  This way you get the best deal.  You may also want to take advantage of any loyalty program they offer.  Some give you discounts if you sign up for the program.
